The E.T. Daily Teaching Calendar
Thursday Nov 5th, 2009

1.  Daily WakeUP! Activity:
November 5th, 2009

Vocabulary Free Association
Instead of defining vocabulary words, have students free-associate. Hold up a word card and for the next five seconds, students have to write one or more terms that the world prompts for them. E.g. Generate: energy, introduce, generations, start, etc. Emphasize that it does not have to be a definition. Have a file box full of great terms, then ask students to use the words they come up with in their journals, either in their regular writing exercises, or as a free write.

2.  Daily Quote

"The fragrance always remains in the hand that gives the rose."

- Heda Bejar

3.  Quote Poster & Journal Exercise
